The worst thing about writing a first draft is the fact that you are going along, struggling through, and then you realize that you just don't want to write what you're writing. You like the idea, you like the characters, you want to write the story, but there's something wrong with everything you've planned, and you want to do something else.
Which means that you need to go back and do the whole stinking thing again.
From the beginning.
Arg.
For instance, I'm working on my Illuminati Book, but the problem is that for the interactions that I want, there needs to be a level of levity, which means that the situation that I originally had a really tense can't be. At the same time, I don't want it to be a playful adventure either.
So I guess this means I'm going back to the start. At least I have a clearer idea of what I'm doing.
On another note, I'm happily stirring up a rebellion on one of the forums I go to. It's fun.
